Edward "Joe" Lemieux
I began my career as an Officer in the US Army Corp of Engineers. While stationed in Washington, DC, I attended George Washington University. After completing US Army flight training, I flew assault helicopters in Vietnam where I was awarded numerous honors including the DFC (Distinguished Flying Cross), the Air Medal (51 awards), the Bronze Star, and the Cross of Gallantry with Crossed Palms. My final assignment was at Holloman AFB, on the White Sands Missile Range, as a Test Pilot testing and evaluating new systems and equipment for US Army aircraft. After almost seven years of distinguished military service, I left active duty to continue a career in aviation. For the next 27 years, I operated aircraft under FAR Part 121 (Domestic, Flag and Supplemental Air Carriers) and Part 135 (Commuter and On Demand Air Carriers). I concluded my aviation career in 1997, as owner and Director of Operations of a jet charter service, where I developed software to automate and calculate weight and balances, trip quoting, flight planning, maintenance recordkeeping, and authored aviation Standards including, AAIP’s (Approved Aircraft Inspection Programs) and MEL’s (Minimum Equipment Lists).
I then joined an international printer and label manufacturer as Special Projects Manager. My accomplishments included creating an e‐commerce web site, developing and maintaining the Company's SQL Database, designing a CRM (Customer Resource Management) program for their direct sales group, and developing a software program for warehouse management, including shipping, barcode implementation and real time inventory. In addition, I educated and trained company personnel in the mechanics and application of these programs.
In 2003, I left my employment to establish my own company, Allied AIDC, where I worked with companies to create software for inventory and asset management, bar coding, and database management.
As a result of my previous work with aviation standards and my knowledge of the barcode/label industry, I was invited to join the ANSI MH10 Standards Committee. I presently serve as Secretary on the ANSI MH10 SC8 Committee and, in addition, I am the Vice‐Chair of the INCITS (International Committee for Information Technology Standards) T6. Armed with years of experience and expertise in developing systems that increase efficiency and productivity, I entered a partnership to found RFIDTraxx LLC., a company providing solutions to businesses, government and universities using bar code, active and passive RFID technologies.
In February 2014, I was asked by my life long friend and now partner, to help to revialize his NEMT (Non-Emergency Medical Transportation) company in Grand Rapids. At the time I joined Bill, as the Managing Partner of Ready Ride Transportation in Grand Rapids, the Company consisted of four employees and four vehicles on the road. During the following year the business has grown to 16 employees and 12 vehicles and the revenues have trebled. The success of Ready Ride Transportation is due to having enthusiastic and enrolled employees with a well maintained fleet of vehicles and motivated staff.
